In 1961, Corcah was organized by a group of friends living in the city of Ansed’Hainault, Haiti. Guided by the need to work together to stimulate prosperity, to promote social inclusion and economic growth, to raise living standards, and to generate investment opportunities, several groups of Haitians with diverse professional backgrounds decided to combine their genuine efforts to work together to form an organization. In the search for sustained and equitable economic growth that contributes to long-term development and reduces poverty, those individuals are committed to continue implementing social activities and a sound macroeconomic approach to resolve poverty issues. Furthermore, they continue to redouble efforts to improve the investment climate and promote corporate social responsibility. Fulfillment of this responsibility enables effective use of national and international resources for economic growth and poverty reduction. From day one, Corcah has been seeking to coordinate efforts with a view to mobilizing resources for sustainable economic development and for combating poverty in the region of Ansed’Hainault. In 1986, Corcah became a legal corporation as defined in subparagraph ( a) ( 5) of Section 102 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law and is a type B Corporation under Section 201 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.
