CORCAH: A quantitative approach to Sustainable Economic Development through Strategic Planning and Partnerships.

The Committee of Relief and Cooperation for the Advancement of Haiti (CORCAH) has strengthened its regional, national and international partnerships to promote sustainable economic growth, and to reduce poverty. We connect people and ideas by coordinating our working relationships with donor countries, civil society organizations and international financial institutions. As a result, we are ready to support through knowledge sharing, project management and advisory services an endogenous network able to catalyze economic development

Our objective is to foster integration and coordination of local institutions and associations around a shared vision of economic development. We plan a system of services to public and private organizations that can support local economic development. The essential mission of CORCAH is to improve the economic opportunity, develop relationships of collaboration and cooperation across sectors, create jobs and reduce poverty.

CORCAH is an excellent catalyst for the exchange of ideas. In addition to providing high quality services, we develop projects and effective programs aimed at boosting economic growth and improving living conditions. Our leaders are highly educated and technically trained. CORCAH is led by a Chief Executive Officer.

CORCAH advances social and economic efforts to inspire personal responsibility in caring for the environment.  We enhance public health and environmental protection through effective management. We manage and coordinate CORCAH's planning, analysis and accountability processes as well as provide financial management services.

Innovation is the key to economic progress. From voluntary partnerships to new technologies, CORCAH’s Leadership Management team is testing continuously a variety of ideas and approaches that can achieve results. Our Strategic plan will guide us in establishing short-term and long-term goals we will need to meet along the way. It helps us recognize where we need to adjust our approaches or directions to achieve better results. Finally, it provides a basis from which CORCAH's leaders can focus on the highest priority social and economic issues and ensure that we deliver results.

Our leaders work tirelessly to assess social conditions and to identify, understand, and solve current and future economic problems. We analyze and integrate the work of partners such as regional, national and international organizations, academia and other agencies to provide leadership in addressing emerging social and economic issues. We develop projects that enhance the public's awareness, knowledge, and skills to make informed decisions.

As one of the leading organization in the world, we play a role in accelerating economic growth by offering a range of services. We believe in the power of collaboration and the synergy that’s created by partners working together toward a common goal. We value and seek to promote the ability to identify and create opportunity to generate wealth. We take pride in empowering people to build a better future for themselves and their community.

Increased agricultural productivity is an important goal for CORCAH. The challenge of making the agricultural sector much more productive is a critical one. CORCAH works with all participants in agricultural development to support efforts to increase productivity.

Animal agriculture is the largest single sector of agricultural economies in most developing and transition countries. Milk consumption in terms of quantity, monetary value and calories increased twofold in the developing world. Building on the initiatives set forth by major organizations, we are collaborating on activities such as training and promoting community animal health workers. CORCAH also continues to foster partnerships.

Forests provide environmental services such as regulating water supplies and stemming soil erosion. These services have an enormous impact on worldwide agricultural productivity and human health. CORCAH supports efforts to improve the management of forests as a means to promote sustainable social and economic development.

By becoming participants in the global economy, farmers are able to raise their incomes and, in the long run, achieve food security for their families and rural populations in general. The rise in internationally-owned supermarkets brings unique sets of stringent regulations for food safety, purity and quality. To respond to these new requirements, CORCAH assists with development projects, and encourages other donors to finance infrastructure activities.

These people depend directly and indirectly on agriculture and agriculture-related activities for their food and income. CORCAH assists in developing domestic market and international trade opportunities.

To meet current and future demands for food, increasing agricultural productivity, especially of staple foods, is crucial. When farmers are able to grow more than they eat, they can sell the excess. CORCAH is also helping rural farmers diversify their farms to produce higher value products. CORCAH assists the development of infrastructure. CORCAH also recognizes the need to invest in rural services.

CORCAH is working with local partners to improve water resources management. Every ecosystem, society, and individual on Earth depends on water. Reliable water supply has been a fundamental component of the increased agricultural productivity. CORCAH has made the preservation and environmentally sound development of the world’s water resources a top priority. We helped improve access to safe and adequate water supply.

CORCAH provides voluntary technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, and agribusinesses to promote sustainable improvements in food production, and marketing. CORCAH partners with regional and national leaders to support their efforts to improve the levels of income their citizens enjoy.

CORCAH has been working over the past 20 years to expand opportunities for thousands of people who rely on micro-enterprises in the informal sector for their livelihoods. CORCAH is ready to work in partnership international organizations, local nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and other organizations to extend much-needed services.

Trade and investment are powerful engines that drive economic growth and reduce poverty. To make significant inroads in reducing poverty, these countries need to rapidly accelerate economic growth. CORCAH develops and implements projects to address a wide range of development needs. This approach will increase competitiveness by supporting local enterprises abilities to identify and produce goods and services the world is willing to buy.

Information technology transforms processes and institutions, creating opportunities and linkages previously either impossible or unimaginable. CORCAH has the capability to develop and implement Information technology programs.

CORCAH is committed to preventing suffering, saving lives, and creating a brighter future for families. We work with partners to expand medical opportunities.

CORCAH emphasizes programs of support for basic education and places a special emphasis on improving opportunities for underserved and disadvantaged populations.  Therefore, in collaboration with partners, CORCAH supports a wide variety of training, career development, and education programs.

Since 1961, CORCAH has worked in cooperation with regional, national and international partners to improve conditions for people around the world. While these partnerships have long been a key to CORCAH's success, this strategy remains more important than ever. We provide technical assistance to enhance performance and achieve results.

CORCAH is a recognized leader and has contributed to major innovations. Through their primary functions of global leadership and technical support, CORCAH seeks to protect human health and promote economic growth.  We are committed to improving the health and well-being of children and families.

CORCAH works in agriculture, economic growth, the environment, education, health, global partnerships, humanitarian assistance, ecosystem and watershed management, tourism, and maritime transportation. The ability to read and write — or literacy — is a basic skill for people to live and work in today’s world. The CORCAH’s programs in education and health represent the commitment and determination of our leaders to prevent suffering, save lives, and create a brighter future for families.

We are fostering partnerships through the world. We are providing excellent networking opportunities. We are working tirelessly to implement watershed and marine ecosystem-based management initiatives.

To be among the world’s best, CORCAH built closer cooperation and good governance within and among regional agencies and civil society in coastal and marine resource management, water management, health, environmental protection, agriculture, and urban planning.  Through business partners, we promote best business and environmental practices. We are firm believers in community and in the power of technologies to foster connectivity, to support regional activities in watershed and marine coastal management, and to contribute to the major growth sectors, such as tourism and marine transportation.

At CORCAH, we will continue with a shared sense of purpose to foster partnerships. We want to facilitate closer cooperation within and among nations, regional agencies and civil society in coastal and marine resource management, water management, health, environmental protection, agriculture, and urban planning.  We are committed to working in cooperation with regional, national and international partners to improve conditions for people around the world. We invite donors around the world to join us in this journey.
