CORCAH Directors bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise. It is their responsibility to endorse the organization's strategy, develop directional policy, and to ensure accountability of CORCAH. The Board of Directors plays a key role in governance. Our Board members have a range of skills and understanding, and demonstrate an appropriate level of commitment to fulfill their responsibilities and duties. Governance is the method by which CORCAH is directed, administered and controlled. It is used to monitor whether outcomes are in accordance with plans; and to motivate the organization to be more fully informed in order to maintain or alter organizational activity. At its broadest, governance encompasses the framework of rules, relationships, systems and processes within and by which authority is exercised and controlled in CORCAH. Relevant rules include applicable laws of the land as well as internal rules of the organization. At CORCAH, key elements of good governance principles include honesty, trust and integrity, openness, performance orientation, responsibility and accountability, mutual respect, and commitment to the organization. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the highest-ranking officer. The CEO has broad power to manage the organization on a daily basis, including decision making and internal controls. By applying Internal Governance controls, the CEO monitors activities and then takes corrective action to accomplish organizational goals. Governance mechanisms and controls are designed to reduce the inefficiencies. Well-designed programs with clear objectives and benchmarks are developed to measure progress . Systems and processes are implemented to monitor and evaluate results, and to deal with matters such as performance measures, compliance, reporting requirements and accountabilities.
