Cooperative and community-based business management

CORCAH's long-standing successful partnerships with community-based organizations, have been highly effective and efficient in implementing our programs and services. In light of our mission, we promote understanding and use of the cooperative form of business as a viable organizational option for sustainable economic development and cooperation.

We serve cooperative members. We strive to assist them to effectively use cooperatives to improve their economic well-being and quality of life. We are eager to establish and operate centers for cooperative development for the primary purpose of improving the economic condition of rural areas through the development of new cooperatives.

We encourage and stimulate the development of effective cooperative organizations. We provide technical assistance to cooperatives and those thinking of forming cooperatives. We plan to gradually expand the cooperative program to include assistance to all types of rural cooperatives.

Technical assistance could include helping a cooperative develop a strategic marketing plan to cope with new competitive forces, in making a crucial decision whether to merge or form a joint venture with other cooperatives, or in finding a way to turn the raw products of cooperative members into value-added products. CORCAH can help improve a cooperative's business structure and operating efficiency. Most CORCAH staff members are professionals who have specialized in complex issues, including: business organization, law, finance, strategic planning, and education.

Our program focuses on developing, implementing and extending workable solutions to key problems. Our utmost goal is to enhance cooperative performance through technical assistance, training, and advisory services, and encourage long-term sustainability of cooperative development activities.
