Micro-enterprise Development

CORCAH has been working over the past 20 years to meet the unique needs of micro-entrepreneurs living in rural communities. We pal to develop a quantitative analysis approach to micro-enterprise development for economically vulnerable Haitian business people. Our comprehensive set of business support services will include: business development training and technical assistance.

The key innovation that CORCAH is recognized for is the creation of sectoral enterprise networks. Sectoral networks are groups of very small rural businesses that cooperatively access training and marketing opportunities, as well as shared information and lessons learned.

We would like to inspire many organizations, new and existing, to adopt enterprise development strategies as a means of helping people who generally cannot fully access traditional sources of capital and assistance to help themselves. The goal of micro-enterprise development strategies is to foster economic activities at a local and small-scale level that benefits individuals in those communities.

Although technical assistance is a critical service, there is a need to provide cost-effective useful business advice. The most useful business services shall include cash flow management, budgeting, basic bookkeeping, and business planning.

Recognizing micro-enterprise development strategies as a valuable component of individual development and community economic revitalization, CORCAH supports a range of micro-enterprise programs as the needs of micro-entrepreneurs themselves, and assess the programs accordingly. We are ready to provide technical assistance to micro-enterprise development organizations that are reshaping financial and business service markets to better serve poorer clients.
